First off - gotta give Specialty-Z and Greg a big round of applause again, I ordered my stuff Wednesday, and it showed up on my door Friday morning. My paypal check hadn't even cleared yet! I finished up my exhaust install yesterday, didn't go too badly. Took about 11 hours though :( I got the old Stillen cat-back off in about 15 minutes on Friday and shipped it out. Finally had time to finish everything up this week, and the cats came off without a hitch. My friend and I were being stubborn, and did not feel like dropping the tranny, so we decided to take off the precats without doing so. No brake fluid lying around, so we decided to let the master cylinder be intact as well. Passenger side precat came off in about 20 minutes. Popped on my old BMC brace and subframe spacers while we were working on it too. Drivers side came at the low cost of my sanity and possibly my soul. I may have sworn it over in an attempt to get the bolts off, but hey it worked. We got all 4 bolts off from below the car, it took a LOT of patience and 2 people but it was do-able. No need to drop/remove anything for the install, just a lot of patience if you're going that route. Putting everything on didn't take long at all. The (unresonated) Labree exhaust isn't nearly as loud as I thought it would be - it seems about as loud as my resonated labree was on my 2+2, and it doesn't drone as much. It sounds AWESOME when you get on it though, I'm glad I got it. Turbos are a lot louder now too. As far as the difference the TPs and DPs make, well.......... HOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYY )@#9*%)#@(*$)(*#@!!. If you don't have supersplit DPs... GET THEM NOW! NOW! NOW! My peak boost dropped about 1k RPMs - yep, wasn't peaking until just above 5k, now its just above 4k - much more livable and the power is INSANE. I'm going to tweak around a little more to get that down a bit, but overall my car is just crazy now. It seems twice as torquey, and the power is just crazy. I was screwing around with my friend after I installed it (he has a 01 WS6 trans am w/ headers, exhaust, intake, underdrive pulley, tuned, a couple other things I'm probably forgetting) and we are running dead even now through first 2 gears. I would probably start to pull on him in 3rd, he jumps on me in first, but when I'm spooled I easily catch up. Before the install my lag was killing me and he smoked me. On a cool night, the car starts to be a little scary hehe. My brand new 275 tires are breaking loose when I'm not careful. All this at 12 PSI. I can't imagine what 18+ is like. Anyways, just wanted to give props to greg and rant about DPs (well, the whole exhaust really). Just INSANE! It feels like I gained upwards of at LEAST 50 HP and ft-lbs. GET THEM NOW! That is all.
